We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Heywood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
Here at DASH we are changing the way that patients receive care. Our number one focus is on patient care and satisfaction. We put patients first by giving the best care possible, along with giving them the best experience possible. We offer the cheapest cash rate in the area. By doing this we help our patients get the care they need without having to worry about making tough financial choices. We also do everything we can do accommodate the specific needs of each of our patients. We value their time and we try our best to simplify every part of the process when it comes to billing, paperwork, and everything else that comes with being in the medical field. A lot of offices say that they do this, but because we are a small business, we actually CAN!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It might seem strange that we are connecting art with physical therapy but hear me out! DASH is more than just physical therapy. DASH is a place where people can come to escape the world, feel better, and enjoy their time. We focus A LOT on the culture at DASH. Like I said before, we do everything we can to be accommodating for our patients. Basically the goal is to provide a stress free experience in everyday. This is seen in the way we treat, bill, and handle the day to day patient interactions at DASH. Another part of the art of DASH would be our social media presence. We have so much fun on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok! We share our day to day life at DASH with the world on our social media platforms. We have fun with our posts and do our best to use words, images, and videos to share our culture with people who have never been in the clinic.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are located in Queen Creek so of course we would have to hit up all of our favorite places! The Queen Creek Marketplace is essential. There are so many fun stores and restaurants to check out. At the same time, there are some amazing small businesses right by the clinic. Buddyz pizza is right down the street. They are known for their amazing pizzas and trust me, they are legendary. There is a CrossFit gym a few doors down; Queen Creek Crossfit. This is a great place to get a good workout in. The Cottage is also in our complex. The Cottage is filled with flowers and home decor. All of these places are small businesses and we are so lucky to have them as neighbors!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
DASH is truly a small business. There are two main people behind DASH and we are supported by our employees. I run the patient care side, I see every patient and make sure that the back office runs smoothly. Kimberly, my wife, runs the business side. She is in charge of billing, marketing, payroll/HR, front office and all things related to the business side of DASH. Together we are able to make DASH exactly what we want it to be. There are no investors or bigger businesses involved…It is just us! It can be a challenge at times, but together we make it work. We do a good job of focusing on our roles and meeting in the middle. It has been, and continues to be, a ton of work, but incredibly rewarding. We could not have DASH without the both of us and that is special.
