We had the good fortune of connecting with Missy White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Missy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My name is messy white the owner of Pure Precious Photography LLC in Arizona. Photography has always been a huge Passion of mine, all throughout high school I took photography classes and i took my camera everywhere with me. I took pictures everywhere I went, of everyone and everything. I loved capturing the memories. Even in college I continued my education in photography taking a few classes here and there. When I was pregnant with my daughter in 2017 my husband got my a DSLR Nikon camera to practice and learn as a hobby. From then on I took off, learning and absorbing all I could from every creative I knew in the photography field. I was luck to have friends that became mentors and helped me practice and grow to be a better photographer. @byraephotography has been a wonderful friend and mentor over the years, not to mention an amazing creative herself. @johonaaei is an ASU photography major that was a great help to me, teaching me how to get better as a creative with my photography even with his busy schedule, he still took the time to help me develop. After a year of hard practicing I then decided I was ready to take my creative hobby to the next level and turn it into a career, I started by opening my LLC Pure Precious Photography LLC. My 1st gig was shooting my cousin’s wedding, where another photographer and I collaborated on the wedding photography @EricaMcQuown. Shortly after Erica invited me to this Facebook group called women’s networking in Photography Phoenix group founded by thr amazing @amandadeleon. This group is amazing i met so many different creatives from hair stylists and make up artists to modles and other photographers. I immediately started networking and working with as many of them as I could getting my name out there and continuing to develop and shoot as much as possible. It has been a great ride deciding to make being a creative photographer a career. I have been published in magazines over 10 times now, have paying clients and i absolutely love everyday of it! I am blessed to be able to capture peoples memories for them and to see my creative visions come to life as a career.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Exciting places to check out here in the valley to eat and drink would be chuck box for burgers, a stroll around mill Ave and tempe marketplace for daytime activities shopping and such. For fun and games main event, bowlero, Dave and busters Tempe center of the arts bridge is beautiful also!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout outs well deserved Thank you for mentoring me, helping me grow and develop @byraephotography @johonaaei. Thank you for the encouragement and networking opportunities @amandadeleon and the entire women’s networking in photography Phoenix group you have all been wonderful amazing and fun to get to know and collaborate with. Thanks to my amazing hubby for always believing in me and getting me started back into photography @derekwhite
