We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Uden, FNP-C and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, what matters most to you?
I highly value the relationships I form with people I meet through my career. As my career has evolved from Registered Nurse to Nurse Practitioner and now with Aesthetic Injectables, I continue to learn and grow from each relationship formed, whether it is a colleague, mentor, or patient. My patient relationships are especially important to me. Establishing trust, confidence, and mutual decision making with patients helps me to provide them with the best outcomes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career as a Registered Nurse working inpatient Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant, then went to work as an outpatient infusion RN providing chemotherapy infusion treatments.

After completing graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner, I continued to work in outpatient Oncology and with Cancer Survivors. My Nurse Practitioner career then took me to work in an outpatient Allergy & Asthma clinic for a couple of years, and finally to Urgent Care/Convenient Care.

I am now working in Aesthetic Medicine providing injectable treatments including Botox, Dermal Fillers, Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) injections, as well as microneedling treatments. I continue to work in Urgent Care to keep up on my clinical skills and knowledge as a Family Nurse Practitioner in order to provide all of my patients with holistic care.

I am proud of my career progression and feel honored to have held the previous positions I have had. Each of these positions provided me with diverse learning opportunities, skills, and knowledge that have shaped me into the provider I am today.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough one! I love Tucson and Oro Valley, it’s where I grew up and went to UofA!

To eat I love local restaurants:
Baja Cafe, Bisbee Breakfast Club, Eegees (watermelon is my fave), El Charro, Vivace, Frog n Firkin, and 1912 Brewing!

Of course you have to check out U of A campus, Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon, 4th Ave shops/restaurants, and our continuously improving downtown!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband is my biggest supporter and helped me to get through Grad school while working as a Registered Nurse. He encouraged me and lifted me up during times when I felt worn down. He always supports me in making career choices that will make me happiest and helps give me clarity to see the bigger picture.

With my new career venture in Aesthetic Medicine, I have so much gratitude and appreciation for my business partners/sponsors, Ryan Lacy DDS & Sean Ham DDS, who helped me to get started. They both continue to encourage me and help me grow. I also owe a great deal of my jump started success and organization to our final business partner, and Director of Operations, Betty Latorre. She keeps me sane during these busy times!
