We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Duenas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, what makes you happy? Why?
Being able to do what I love. Having a career that fulfills my passion and allows me to help others. For me, doing what I love has completely transformed my life. I found peace, I’m more relaxed, and I can be a better version of my self because I’m happy!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m so happy with how my business has grown these past few years. It takes a lot of dedication, hard work, long hours and a few tears. My second year was spent in my treatment room redeeming Groupons. It was tough not having a balance in life that year. Looking back, the vouchers may not have brought the income I wanted at the time but it provided me with lots of experience and newfound confidence. Last year I was able to participate in the SkinGames which is a competition for Estheticians all over the world. Participating in this competition allowed me to find the best skincare products in the market. DMK skincare has the best education for estheticians and their treatments are unlike anything else. Their extensive education has allowed me to excel and be better at my work.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I would visit downtown Gilbert for a laid back evening and eat at one of the tons of restaurants there. There is a small business that I love to visit called Studio 223 where they have a lot of locally made goods to purchase. I would finish the evening at Petersens Ice Cream enjoying the fun atmosphere.

Another great place is Flix Brewhouse in downtown Chandler to enjoy a movie with a friend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My sister Maria has been a great mentor! She has been so supportive and she used to manage my social media marketing. She inspired me to get help from other individuals so I could take my business to the next level. Maria owns a small business herself DecoInk Designs. She continues to inspire me with the way she runs her business.
