We had the good fortune of connecting with Rustin L Odom and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rustin L, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Simply put, I have a passion for storytelling and I know that my passion could never reach it’s fullest potential by working for someone else. Maybe it’s the way I was brought up, but I’ve always believed that there is no point in wasting time, money or a chance to do what you love. Having my own business, following my own dreams is the perfect manifestation of that ideology.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For me, there’s no feeling in all of human experience that can compare to when a story you’re working on hits that human note and reverberates through your being like a gong. You feel like you’re offering the best part of yourself to humanity. All the pain, work and sleepless nights become justified in an instant. I love it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Unless I’m on set, I truly don’t go out much but one of the most breathtaking places I’ve visited would have to be the painted desert. We shot a Sci-Fi film there and it was hard for me, the cast and the crew not to waste time just taking in and witnessing nature’s glory.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife, who has always supported me in following my silly dreams. If nothing else, my life is a stack of projects. Some are completed, some unfinished, some abandoned and some successful, but the common factor that threads throughout is the love and support of my dear wife Olivia. Love ya, babe.
