We had the good fortune of connecting with SAGE AUBREY LOMAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi SAGE AUBREY, what do you attribute your success to?
Oh my gosh, MY ICONIC #SAGESQUAD without the women in this community embracing SAGE AUBREY there would be no success. I owe so much to the women who go hard for the brand. I came into the luxury industry out of no where, and started to see the lack of ethics in the way they treated and intimidated women in purchasing. I became appalled by the industry. I had a choice to either be apart of the problem or take a HUGE risk and pull out of my large luxury retail partnerships– and find a way to be a part of the solution. So 2 years ago I did just that and did the complete opposite of what the fashion industry and luxury industry advises you to do as a designer. I got in front of my customers, started to tell the truth about the industry, and took the mystery out of the equation. That HUGE risk of bucking the trend and following my instincts is what has made SAGE AUBREY a success. Basically everyone told me I was going to fail, but something inside kept telling me to go straight to my customers and communicate authentically and kindly and that’s what I have done. The happiest part of my day, is genuinely connecting with my customers. SAGE AUBREY is so much more than a handbag brand. We are a community of disrupters, community builders, innovators and game changers. These bags won’t change the world but the women who wear them are. xx, Sage
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I wanted to create a handbag that was ICONIC in shape, multi faceted to represent a woman’s life, luxury and attainable. I visualized the woman who would could carry her would look put together whether she was in gym attire, lounge clothing, power suits or effortless in denim. I spent almost 4 years creating, tweaking, sampling my iconic shape with manufacturers around the world. My bags are small batch crafted in Florence, Italy with a premier manufacture of luxury handbags. We ensure that there is no waste in our productions and any waste that we do have is used on our small leather goods. We are sustainable, integral and woman owned and fueled. That I am so proud of…
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love Steak 44 for a bougie dinner and cocktails and people watching… We also love Taco Madera, Ocean 44, brunch at chelseas kitchen or Olive and Ivy.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is to #SAGESQUAD for making SAGE AUBREY what she is today! My INCREDIBLE husband who is my number one fan and my inspiration behind all things I create. Without his on going love and support I wouldn’t be the woman I am today.
