We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Speaker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samuel, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to redefine and raise the industry standard of massage and bodywork. I plan on doing this by starting my own franchise that will make companies like massage envy and elements massage obsolete. Massage and bodywork is healthcare and should be treated as such. This industry should be results and client focus driven. For this line of work to be taken seriously as healthcare these companies should not be the face of the industry so my end goal is to be the face of the industry and make massage and bodywork a standard of care for everyone in America while pushing for it to be covered by insurance as it should be.
What should our readers know about your business?
I have a massage and bodywork practice called Coyote Bodywork in North Scottsdale. My business prides itself in its quality of work. What we do differently is we take our time with each client and explain to them exactly what is going on and how we plan to fix it. With healing the body half the battle is at home so we give our clients an array of stretches and exercises as part of the treatment plan. We also have a large network of healthcare providers so even if massage and bodywork is not the answer we will send you in the right direction. Personally I am proud everyday, we help take peoples pain away and there is no better feeling. Being a newer business during covid was definitely hard but if you love what you do and you are good at it, I guarantee you will succeed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hiking camelback is a great way to start your day. I love to go to Defalco’s Italian Deli on Scottsdale Rd. grab some food and go to Tempe town lake with my wife its an amazing view. I am a big fan of comedy, so i would recommend Standup Live in Phoenix, its a great venue. At the end of a day, going to the whining pig for an IPA and some boardgames with friends. All those are the perfect recipe for a great time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to someone who was actually in the shoutout series Julie Jones. She has been an incredible mentor to me. She has been with me from the start of my practice. She has supported me through some of the worst times and she helped me through it all with no expectations of anything in return. She has helped shape my life in an amazing way with selfless acts time and time again, the world needs more Julie Jones. I love you Julie!
