Meet Sara Menchaca | Owner of Blooming Wall LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Menchaca and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was a little girl I had a wild imagination. We didn’t have much growing up so I would create my own toys out of milk cartons and soda bottles. I would make my barbies furniture from things around my house. I love design, I love photography, I love to paint. I love event planning. I’m always looking for something to create. When I started this business not only was I was looking for creative outlet but I was also looking for something that would make me
Feel like I was doing something for myself. When I became a mom in 2018 I slowly lost sense of who I was. I became a mom and that was my whole identity. I started having signs of depression. I didn’t realize it until the end of 2020 which was a very tough year for many people. In October of 2020, my son who was 2 and a half at the time, was diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder. This completely turned my life upside down. I had to re learn everything I though I knew. Once again I put myself in the back burner and fully dedicated myself to finding the best plan for my son. Fast forward to 2022, I finally got to a point where I felt it was ok for me to spend some time on myself. I felt like I needed to do something that could fulfill my creative nature but also something that wasn’t so time consuming because my son still needed 100% assistance. I found out about flower walls thru Instagram. I saw a picture of a celebrity at a dinner party and they had a flower wall backdrop. I immediately thought wow that is so beautiful I wonder how they made it or where they got it. I did all the research and that same night I had all the information I needed.
I didn’t give it much thought I just jumped in and it was the best impulsive decisión I’ve ever made.
What I love about being in this business is getting to witness pure happiness. From the initial client contact, I can feel the excitement of the future husband and wife planning their wedding or expectant mother planning a baby shower. New parents so excited to find out if their baby is a boy or girl. Happiness is contagious and It fills my heart with joy to experience these moments with my clients.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me my business is not just buying a flower wall backdrop and renting it out for events. For me it’s an opportunity to get creative. I make them my own. I add my own touch to them to make them look unique and have the best quality possible. I love creating styled photoshoots with my flower walls that tell a story. I don’t just set up at an event and pick up. I love capturing beautiful pictures and videos for my clients and creating content for other vendors working with me.
What I’ve learned in the last few years is that you have to make sure you are the best version of yourself to be able to live your life to it’s full potential You were chosen to live this life for a reason. No matter what curve ball life throws at you, don’t lose yourself. Don’t let fear get in the way of what your heart desires.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friends on a day Trip to Sedona to explore. Then have lunch at Mariposa Restaurant and take in the stunning natural scenery. I would go to Well & Being Spa at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort and enjoy the resorts amenities which are included with the spa pass. For breakfast I would go to Lucy’s at the Orchard or The Farm at South Mountain. For brunch I would recommend The Vig or The Henry. For dinner there are so many good options. Toca Madera is always a fun time. Call her Martina and Maple and Ash are also great. Cibo Pizzeria and The Hidden House are perfect for a cozy romantic vibe.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If it wasn’t for the encouragement of my support system I probably wouldn’t have gone thru with starting my own business. They gave me the push I needed. My son is my biggest motivation to keep going. I want to be able to give him a great life and the best therapy available. I want to have piece of mind knowing my son will be taken care of for as long as he needs to. I’m inspired every day by other moms in the business world who work hard and prove that it can be done. Also, like minded creatives and entrepreneurs who are killing it.
