We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah DellaRocco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create something that was my own. I wanted to have a career that would allow me to express my creative nature while at the same time bringing joy to my clients. Nothing brings me more joy then knowing that what I do can transform someone’s confidence and self esteem.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My Art on makup and doing hair comes from throwing away the rules. I know that sounds off, but I understand to learn a craft you go to school learn the basics. But when it comes down to it I just go with the moment and let my creative side come out. I seem to always do my best when I’m just in the moment and don’t over think. Yes I have my challenges like every, but the one lesson that I have learned along the way is to start listening and paying attention to my clients and actually understand what makes them happy and what they want not what I want…..I want the world to know nothing is ever easy, but when you truly start to understand yourself and stand in your truth of who you are, your craft or whatever you came here to do, will be so much easier, when you start to let go…..
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I do consider myself a foodie, so I would definitely have to take my friend to several restaurants in the valley. I would start with Toca Madera Scottsdale, their Japanese Wagyu is amazing. For a great scene and food I love Ocean 44. For places to check out, locally there is always a invigorating hike Camelback Mountain. Of course there are several day trips to check out, Sedona, Fossil Creek for a great hike, and definitely Flagstaff.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out is definitely Letitia Frye. And her book “No Reserve.” Meeting her and reading her book, made me look inward at my life and completely change my world for the better, These changes influenced my business, relationships, my child’s life, and most importantly ME. I learned how to get a grip on myself and the world around me with balancing my life and taking ownership of my life choices and she inspired me to live my life without limitation.
