We had the good fortune of connecting with Shasta N. Broadus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shasta N., is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Capital Stewardship was created for the personal and professional development of the small business owner and entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is the fabric of America and I know that if I can help our small business owners personally and professionally develop in turn that will help them grow their business and give them a fighting chance in the marketplace.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Capital Stewardship is a personal and professional business development organization geared towards CEO & Founders. We saw that there was a need to close the gap to help educate start ups on various stages of business development. From developing your business model, to scaling your business in the marketplace or even selling your business when that time comes.

We are a one stop shop organization that works specifically with key stakeholders to help with strategy, connections, resources and direction depending on what stage they are at in their business. We are in our 5th year of business this year and it definitely has not been easy. Switching from a client relationship manager in financial services to a small business owner had it’s learning curve. As I worked with medium size enterprises regarding business succession planning so I knew everything I needed to know once the business was going but still had to learn how to get the business started especially in a new city where I didn’t know anyone. One thing a lot of people call me is tenacious which is what has kept me going and also believing in the vision.

Since then I have a built a network of business professionals to help our clients and business owners with areas of their business where they are not proficient such as Will, Trust & Estate planning, TM & Patent attorneys, marketing and branding professionals and much more. As a one stop resource we make it easy for any business owner to grab the reigns of their business and cut down the timeframe of 3-5 years before your small business will make a profit. 3-5 years is a long time to wait to begin to make money in your business especially when you have a family to feed. In essence shortening the learning curve to increase your business acumen and increase your profits is what Capital Stewardship is all about.

Capital Stewardship was created with the small business owner and entrepreneur in mind; as we are the pillars in our community and need to be able to understand how we grow ourselves in turns grows our business. We then are able to provide jobs and opportunities in the community in which we serve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Sedona! Sedona is a great place to be if you just want to chill and vibe with nature. I would recommend checking out Lacuna Kava Bar which just opened their second location in Sedona last August that I was happy to be apart of. They have a great vibe and getting introduced to Kava is always a great experience.

I’ve always been a people watcher so walking the restaurant row there will always give you some good sights to see as well as some great interactions with locals and visitors. Also checking out the vortex in Sedona is amazing as there is some great energy there as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out all the other entrepreneurs and business owners that are in our local communities providing goods and services to support their families and living the American dream. To be independent and support the communities that we are apart of.

The book that got me on the path to personal and professional development was 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Brian Tracy. I read that book at the age of 23 and have ever since been on a path of self discovery as well as being the most effective person that I can be in my lifetime.
