We had the good fortune of connecting with Shruti Lovings and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shruti, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I hate to sound cheesy but the whole “without risk there’s no reward” quote always resonates with me. Prior to opening my own cosmetic injecting business I used to work for a medspa and my clients would always ask me why I didn’t just do my own thing, to be frank the only thing holding me back was my fear of failure. I finally decided to just go for it and take a risk in opening my own business when I realized I was tired of making others money with my own artistry and knowledge. It’s all about believing in your own talent and diving in. I love meeting people that are on the verge of making huge career or life decision and giving them the vote of confidence to just go for it. Opening my own business was by far the most terrifying but also the most rewarding decision I ever made and I’d never go back!
What should our readers know about your business?
I own a cosmetic injectable business, where I am the cosmetic nurse injector. I love to give every one of my clients a full experience when they come in to get treatments. I hate stuffy medical offices so I try to keep the environment very light and fun. When my clients leave my office I want them to feel like they were just hanging out with a friend that just happened to poke them with needles in their face. There’s a ton of business in the valley that do what I do but I like to try to make personal connections with people and give them an enjoyable comforting experience. There were definitely long days and sleepless nights when opening my business, but I believe if you have true passion you can do it all.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends come in town I love taking them to fun trendy restaurants and boutiques! I’ve lived in Arizona since I was 6 years old and I love how much it’s grown and become such a fun place to visit! There’s always a hot new restaurant around the corner or a fun boutique opening up. If it’s winter I love taking guests up north to Sedona, Flagstaff, or the Grand Canyon. There’s just something so beautiful about snow in the desert!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father is my biggest motivation in life. My father was born and raised in a tiny village in India back in the 40s and when it came time for him to go to college they were only giving out scholarships for mining chemical engineering so he went for it, never paid a dime for school and ended up running a large copper mine in Africa. Eventually through the years of his career he became a very successful business man and was given the opportunity to bring his entire family to America. I can’t imagine how terrifying it must have been for a man that grew up in a literal grass hut to leave a country he was already successful in to come out here, but he did it. With his courage and strength he brought my entire family to America just to be able to give us every opportunity to become successful and I will always be forever grateful for that. My father was the epitome of the immigrant success and I always go back to the fact that I would never have all the opportunities I’ve been given without his perseverance.
