We had the good fortune of connecting with Shyla Collier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shyla, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Everyone must take risks when you are a business owner. Business ownership is very risky and can be intimidating. You pay up front to make money in the long run. In many cases, owners are in the red for the first two years. However, I was never in the red. It was very scary to leave my corporate job and be completely on my own, though it was fully worth it. When thinking about taking a huge risk, you want to weigh out both the negative and positive for both sides. It is so rewarding being able to look at the empire you have created and have flexibility to still enjoy life.
What should our readers know about your business?
Premiere Social Media is a worldwide Digital Marketing Agency located in Mesa, Arizona. We are your one-stop-shop for ALL your online marketing needs. We specialize in social media management and training, graphic and website design, search engine optimization and women’s networking groups. There are a few things that separate us from our competitors. We offer all aspects of digital marketing, our clients can work with one company to do all their marketing. We always come up with a marketing plan that is needed, rather than selling everything to you. The women’s networking groups are a great source of leads and support, our memberships are at a fraction of the cost of others that are similar. As the owner, I talk directly to all my clients. I dislike talking to assistants at other companies so I am sure to call them if something needs to be addressed or discussed. We have been published in newspapers, magazines, been on many podcasts and radio stations, had commercials aired on TV and interviewed on a TV show. The owner has 13 years marketing experience and is an Amazon Best Selling Author and has written three books. We were honored to be named one of Mesa’s Best Advertising Agencies for 2020. “I really love my business and am so proud to be the owner. I love helping other people and get to do that every day. I have become successful by having great work ethic, outstanding customer service, being an expert in the field and working very hard on a daily basis. There are many lessons that you learn during every moment o n your journey as a business owner. The most important thing is that you learn from your mistakes. I have learned to be positive and not to get discouraged,” Shyla Collier.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If Covid was not a worry, I would definitely take them to see my office. We are very lucky to have such amazing restaurants around the valley. We would go to Organ Stop Pizza as that is an amazing site to see and beautiful music to hear. I would take them to the amazing Moreno’s Mexican food, as well. A visit to the Superstition Mountain Museum would be part of the itinerary, I live in Apache Junction. We would enjoy a ride on the Dolly Steamboat also.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents taught me everything I know about working hard, money management and business. My grandma is always there to pray for me and listen in rough times. My son is my everything and I am always trying my hardest to give him the best life.
