We had the good fortune of connecting with Smilena Schwadron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Smilena, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I love helping people and as I got on the healthier lifestyle, I decided to share my journey with others. I had just started working out at one of the other Jabz locations and fell in love with the concept. After my very first class, the idea of opening my own was born. I could see myself contributing and bringing some amazing workouts to women, to achieve their goals and dreams.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everyone’s journey is different but equally important and incredible. The obstacles and challenges that come our way build us stronger and mold who we are today. I am most proud of overcoming all the hardships, persevering and making progress in my life. I set goals and I go after them until I reach each one and then off to the next set of goals. That keeps me growing, keeps me interested and excited about whats next. I started in Finance but wasn’t really keen on a 9-5 kind of job, so I was always looking to start something on my own. When I saw the opportunity in opening a fitness studio, I put all my efforts and attention in making it happen. I learnt, that even if you don’t see the final picture or the way of how things are going to work, just take one step at a time and eventually you will get there. Be persistent, consistent, never give up and keep trying. My life’s philosophy is “Anything is possible”.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Yayy, I love entertaining and having friends over. When they visit from out of state, I have some fun places to see, like Sedona, go up to the Sanctuary Resort for dinner and a sunset, chill by the pool at the W, go on a hike to Camelback. Take the boat on Lake Pleasant or even go up to Jerome or Prescott for some unique experiences.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to the amazing Jabz community of strong women, supporting and uplifting each other. Also, to all the trainers, who are always there to encourage and motivate.
