We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Bucklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been a self-starter and a highly motivated person. At some times in my life at certain jobs, this proved to be to my detriment because I was an overachiever who always went above and beyond – and these actions got me fired more than once. I realized early in my life that I was an entrepreneur. Stephanie Bucklin Consulting LLC is actually my fourth business, originally started in 2011. The thought process behind this business at first was to be my own boss and offer consulting services based on things I excelled at, such as document and form design, graphics, website design, and marketing support. I focused on helping small businesses with things the business owner often struggled with, sometimes offering virtual administrative support. After learning all about holistic health and optimal healing in 2014, I shifted my focus to wellness support services for a B2C format, but I’ve never lost sight of supporting those small business owners.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand has shifted a few times over the years. I went from Wellness Coach to Yoga Teacher to Published Author to E-Commerce Site Manager to Event Producer. What I’m proud of currently is that I have realized my own personal services (Psychic abilities, to be specific) can be the leading focus of my brand moving forward. This is my true purpose on this planet – to give people the insights and guidance to move forward with the intuitive knowledge I receive during a reading. I’m also proud of my other brand – the Integrative Wellness Collective, which is the focus of my event production company and will likely become a second business in 2023. The vision for the collective is, first and foremost, to support wellness businesses and healing practitioners with their business needs. The events that I’ve created are conscious wellness events, meaning that the more we take responsibility for our own health, the better our overall wellness becomes. Our events are intended to introduce healing modalities and therapies that actually help us heal, to a community that is hungry for healing after a global pandemic. As I gain greater clarity and support for these visions, I also expect greater success to follow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I would pick out all the best restaurants we need to visit and find their menus to show my friend, so they can choose their favorite 10 restaurants to visit – especially emphasizing the plant-based restaurants that I absolutely love (including Giving Tree Cafe, Coronado, Pomegranate Cafe, and Loving Hut). We would go for a hike at South Mountain and stop by one of my favorite coffee shops afterwards, Where You Bean in Ahwatukee. We would visit the IMAX theater for a movie night or perhaps one of the theaters that offers a meal with your movie. And we would definitely plan an Escape Room night with a few more friends. I would take them to walk the ASU campus and perhaps stop by the Memorial Union for something to eat. And of course, we would have to walk up A-Mountain in Tempe. If we needed some downtime towards the end of this busy week, I would suggest one of my favorite massage place, SWIHA Massage Clinic, for a student massage.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I’d like to shoutout to my college professor and mentor, Dr. Raeann Koerner. Raeann always believed in my passion and helped fuel that drive to continue my business in 2014, shifting my focus to design and implement a holistic wellness center. She wrote recommendation letters, sent me supportive emails, and continued to mentor me for a time after I graduated from Ventura College. I may not have learned as much as I did in business if I hadn’t taken the calculated risks Raeann suggested I go for. I deeply appreciate the support and guidance she offered me during that time.
