We had the good fortune of connecting with Ted Sueyoshi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ted, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
The fact that I have another day to live when I wake up in the morning makes me happy because you never know when it is going to end. Seeing other people smiling and happy makes me happy. Other than that, pieces of dark chocolate, ice cream, good coffee all make me happy (:

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I do is very unique in that I work in sports medicine doing physical therapy and injury prevention for athletes specifically figure skaters, dancers, gymnasts, others, and I do performance art photography. I have been working with those athletes as a sports medicine professional because I see a whole different aspects of those sports that may not be present in other sports. I think it is fascinating to see what they are able to do. I started doing photography with them because I wanted to express who they are and what they can do in a form of photographic art. I also do night sky and milky way photography. Because it takes a lot of preparation, effort, traveling, learning, etc to be good at it. And I love how we can capture the galaxy that we live in from inside. I like doing things that not everyone can do and also like to share that with others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love it when my friends visit me because I can share a piece of my life experience with them. What I would do with them depends on what they like to do. However, typical itinerary would like like this…. Arrival : Phoenix area (Goldfield, Tortilla Flat) Day 1 – 3 : Jerome, Cottonwood, Sedona (Indian Garden Market, Pump Station, Pizza Lisa, Bocce, Hideaway House, etc) Stargazing. Hiking. Coffee shops. Day 4: Monument Valley (Stay at Navajo Hogan, eat Navajo tacos) Stargazing. Day 5: Page (Horseshoe Bend, Slot canyons, explore areas that people may not know about) Stargazing. Day 6: Grand Canyon North Rim (Walk around and enjoy the canyon) Day 7: Back to Phoenix for departure
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Every model, dancer, client that I have done photoshoot with or created contents for. Every one of them are special and gave me an inspiration to keep going and keep improving. But my biggest shoutout goes to Jesus Christ that gave me a life to live.
