We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrance, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
That having passion and desire alone will not yield constant success. You must be willing and understanding that conveying your message is needed to have long lasting drive when times seem uncertain and fatigue begins to take a hold of you. If you can help your co-workers, employees and customers achieve their individual success, you will have a career and business worth growing into a success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
T I Fitness & Sports Performance is not just a place where you pay a membership and go about your life. What sets us apart from anybody else is our desire to help each person who walks in the door become the version of themselves they want others to see and hear. Our passion can be felt by each and everyone one of us who does and has worked for us, and no part of it is acting.
We’re the type of place that will show up and your home, work or even on your vacation to hold you to the level of accountability you asked for in order to help you achieve success!
It wasn’t easy getting to this point of being in business for over 11 years. We had to continue to keep improving on what we did with our clients and how we delivered results. Trial and error is an understatement with business. It’s more of a fail multiple times and learn why you failed. We’ve learned from our errors and that’s why the results we get our better than ever!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came into town and I had limited amount of time our itenary would go something like this:
6am-Start the day off at T I Fitness to get our workout in
7:30am-Get breakfast at a local spot (The Gilbert House, The Crowned Egg or Henhouse Cafe)
9am-Rent Bikes at San Tan Mall (Bike Masters)
10am- Bike to downtown Gilbert
11am- Lunch in downtown Gillbert (Joe’s BBQ, Zinburger or Oregano’s)
1pm- Bike ride to San Tan Mall (Movie at Harkins Theatres)
4pm- Early dinner (Rusty’s Tacos)
6pm- Catch a local high school sporting event or Watch professional sports (Native New Yorker, Blue 32)
9pm- Get to sleep
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without any hesitation, this business would not even exist without Honey. My wife has done so much to help my vision become a reality of helping so many in the community. She belived in me not with just her words, but with her every being. She dove into learning the aspects of what helps a business stay a business, or in other words the accounting. So many businesses fail because they had a passion, but lacked the business accounting to continue operating for years to come and she has made sure we’re able to deliver to so many people. Her unselfish love is why we have been operating for over 11 years and getting better!
