We had the good fortune of connecting with Trisha Whitworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trisha, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember how I made them feel. My goal always is to empower women, to remind them that they are important, should be made a priority, worth investing in, that they are sexy even though they are mothers or in their 50’s, that being sexy is not a negative thing, that it’s actually really life changing for women to embrace such an important side of them. I want my daughters to see that I did not sit down as I got older, that I rose up, and I brought other women up with me. I want them to see that I was not intimidated by other women’s beauty and success, but that I helped them see it in themselves and celebrated it with them. I want my legacy to be that I changed the narrative and helped women rediscover their true selves.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well, my name is Trisha and I own Stella Rose Photography and S. R. Boudoir. Over the past 3 years, my boudoir side of my business has grown so much popularity, and I know that is because of my events that I host called Aphrodite’s Escape. AE is a 3 day, 2 night weekend getaway that allows women to “escape”, recharge, and reignite. On the second day, each lady receives professional hair and makeup and a styled boudoir by me. These women are mothers, are wives, are business women. They spend so much time focusing on others that they have forgotten to forces on themselves. They are tires. They have forgotten what it feels like to feel sexy, of the importance of putting themselves first, that there are women out there who understand and want to connect. Aphrodite’s Escape reminds these women of all of these things. These ladies leave feeling empowered, feeling refreshed, feeling confident and feeling like they have formed bonds that they will treasure for life. This is what I am most proud of. I am now planning my 8th and 9th Aphrodite’s Escape and have expanded into New Orleans and Tulum! This hasn’t been an easy ride. I’ve lost money. I’ve been so physically and mentally exhausted. It’s a ton of work and I do all of the planning myself. How I overcome the challenges is the ladies who attend. They motivate me. They are asking to sign up for the next one as they are leaving the house. They cry tears of happiness. The tell me I have no idea how much they needed this. Knowing the change I am having on these ladies makes all of the planning, pain, investment so, so worth. What I have learned, which is probably one of the hardest parts for me, is that I need to charge my worth and to treat myself like a business. What I want the world to know about my brand is that I 100% have the best interests of these women. I’m not prying on exhausted moms, shit, I am one! I know what it feels like to remember how fun you used to be and want to still be that girl, but think, “I’m in my 30’s now” or “I’m a mother now”. I also know how it feels to break out of that mindset and set myself free and rediscover true self and to feel sexy and confident again, It makes me happier. It makes me a better mother. It makes me a better wife. This is the real deal. Boudoirs can 10000% empower women. I’ve had women tell me they haven’t felt beautiful in years, and that’s no ones fault, life is hard. If I can do one thing to remind them that they are so beautiful and amazing, then I pray to God I can do it for the rest of my life!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man, I love to have a good time and eat all the food and listen to great music. If it was this coming week, I’d find them tickets to Austin City Limits Music Festival and take them along with my husband and I for the weekend. I’d obviously take them downtown San Antonio because everyone loves a good touristy day. I would hopefully have some time to take them to Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country for a wine tour. Lastly, I’d throw a party at my house. Maybe have some live music and have my mom do some home cooking and we can all just enjoy some brews under the Teas sky.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout so many people! I’d like to shoutout my husband for always fully encouraging me and hyping me up, pushing me to follow my crazy dreams. I’d like to thank my daughters for inspiring me to want to be better and set a new standard for women. I want to shoutout my sister Sarah who is my hair and makeup artist for my boudoirs and helps the ladies feel so confident and sexy going into my boudoirs (instagram.com/hairbyslam). I’d also like to shoutout my community of women who believe in what I’m doing, who support me, share my work, recommend me to other women, tell me how amazing what I am doing is and pushing me to continue. I love them so much.
