Meet Tyler Larsen | Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Larsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyler, what do you want people to remember about you?
I would like my legacy to live on through my teaching of martial arts. Teaching martial arts has not only gave me a direction in life but has changed my life in many positive ways. It has taught me structure, discipline and accountability. I am lucky enough to be someone who gets to do what they love everyday for a living. Ethos Martial Arts is my business but my home away from home as well.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own Ethos Martial Arts along with Wyatt Shepherd and David Hoopes. We are located in Queen Creek, AZ. We have been open for about 3 and half years now and we are seeing a lot of success with enrollment, student retention and competitions around the state. Getting to where we are at this point has not been easy, we survived the pandemic shutdowns and that in itself is a huge achievement for a gym. Throughout we learned that building relationships around our three pillars of Loyalty, Honor and Integrity. We would like to make a difference in people’s lives, making them more confident and healthy.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The San Tan mountains are across the street from Ethos Martial arts and offer some amazing hikes with amazing views! Once your done with a hike you can stop by Skippys Grille and Cantina for some great food and drinks!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am extremely grateful for my parents for raising me to work hard and never give up on your passions. I also owe a debt of gratitude to my wife and daughter for being by side throughout the journey.
