We had the good fortune of connecting with William Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

The idea had been in my thoughts since working as a private chef for Debordieu, a private island country club in South Carolina.  While visiting Scottsdale, I became obsessed with the idea and within a week Private Chef William Turner was born.  I knew if I did it my way and kept my originality it would be a hit.  I was surprised at how fast my business grew and the massive trend that followed.  The timing was right, and I could feel it. So, I’d say it wasn’t really a thought as much as an obsession.  I hiked Camelback Mountain and while at the top I thought to myself, if I cook for 1 out of every 100 of these homes, I’m a millionaire.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Private Chef William Turner is primarily a private chef and party service. Where we specialize in micro catering in our client’s home.  Our clientele includes celebrities, corporations, families, bachelorette parties, and any other celebrations that need a private chef.  What sets us apart is our approach to client relations.

Being from the south I’ve incorporated southern hospitality in everything I do.  We view our clients as family and that’s how I treat all of them.  Everything starts there.  Our customer service is at a high level no matter what the occasion is.

Since launching 6 years ago have personally cheffed for well over 1000 parties and maintained a flawless rating across all platforms. That is what I am most proud of. Nothing was easy, which is also what makes it so good.  Fortunately, I had learned most of my business lessons before I moved to Scottsdale. A good thing about having a ton of experience is nothing is new. I’ve just learned to keep my cards a little closer to my chest. I believe my brand speaks for itself. Its real, authentic, and unique. When people think of Private Chef William Turner, they should immediately think of food, fun, and awesome people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I have my share of visitors and do a fair amount of staycations.  The valley has a lot to offer.  From the hiking, dessert off roading adventures to the wonderful resort pools & spas.  Some of my favorite resorts are The Princess, Four Seasons, The Phoenician, The Sanctuary and Mountain Shadows.

Hiking: Pinnacle Peak or Camelback Mountain.  Lost Dog Trail is an easier option.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

So many people have helped me achieve what I’ve achieved.  I accomplish nothing alone.  I like to thank my mom, Kay Turner.  Laura, my assistant, and the wonderful serving staff.  There are some many that have made my success possible, really to many to list.

But there’s a very special person Id love to thank.  My aunt, Sandra Turner.  She inspired much of my success with her knowledge, wisdom, and grace.  She flew internationally for United Airlines and her life & travels really helped to open my eyes to the possibilities that exist. Whenever I needed a boost or to have a real conversation, I had her to talk to.  Unfortunately, she’s not with us any longer as she passed last year and she is beyond missed.  Everything I do is for her and all the others who were instrumental in my growth.
