We had the good fortune of connecting with Zack Maita and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zack, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Whenever I start to have any kind of doubt about anything related to my business I just put my head down and tell myself to “stay positive & keep grinding”. I try to focus on that phrase to help me stop thinking about whatever doubt I’m having at the time and also to just get me back to work. Dwelling on a problem doesn’t help anything, working thru it does.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Diamond Cube Promo is a custom screen printing, embroidery and promotional products business. We also offer in-house graphic design services. We like to tell potential clients that we can put their logo on just about anything. Definitely been a grind over the 12 years we’ve been in business and we are incredibly excited to be expanding our production capabilities this year. I really believe the main two factors that has kept us in business is accounting and client relationships. Being a small business we rely heavily on word of mouth marketing. The only way to maintain that strategy is take good care of your clients. Also as a small business you have to be super tight with your $$$, but not so tight that you miss opportunities. Balancing frugality vs the appropriate amount of risk is one of the most challenging but exciting parts of running a business for me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Not been going out really this year due to covid. Once the world get a back to normal I’m looking forward to visiting some of our favorite spots. My wife and live in Old Town Scottsdale and really like TT Roadhouse, Good Wood Tavern, Goldwater Brewery, DeFalco’s Italian Deli, The Local Donut and Uncle Sal’s Italian Restaurant. In Phoenix we like hitting up UnderTow Lounge, Valley Bar, Cobra Arcade Bar and The Duce.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Everything I have is because of the love and support of my family & friends. My parents, brothers, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents all shaped who I am today. My wife is constant source of positivity energy and uplifts me every day. Two great books that changed how I look at the world are Zen Mind, Beginners Mind and The Four Agreements.
