We had the good fortune of connecting with Zulema Garcia Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zulema, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To be honest, it was a bit intimidating starting my own business. There’s so many things that could go wrong and it’s a huge responsibility, but what drove me to continue is knowing that I can make a difference in peoples lives. My purpose to opening my own practice is to both educate and heal my clients, empowering them to live better and healthier lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
For most people, massages is a luxury that cannot be affordable. That’s something that I had to consider when opening my business. I had to make sure to make massage accessible to the community I live in. When promoting my business, my goal is educating the community of the benefits of massage therapy and how they can feel improvement in their daily lives. At first, it was a challenge but as I kept posting on Instagram informative facts, over time it helped people see massage with a different perspective.
Besides educating my clients, I also educate myself by taking many courses of different techniques and modalities that I can offer.
My compassion for my clients is reflected in my massage sessions. I’ve created a relaxed and safe environment for my clients to be in and have the best massage experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Tucson’s  beauty may sometimes be overlooked by the locals, but it has amazing places to visit. First of all, you can’t miss the sunset at Gates Pass, the view is stunning! We embrace the desert life so I’d definitely checkout the Desert Museum. Also, drive down to the Saguaro National Park. The views are breathtaking and one of a kind. If they’re looking for the night life then downtown Tucson is the place to go. It’s full of lively and eccentric people. Tucson is known to have the best Sonoran hotdogs. Just stroll down 12th Ave and you can find a variety of delicious Mexican food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I couldn’t have opened my business without the full support, love and encouragement of my family. I’m grateful for my instructors, Amber, Mel and Mo for teaching me and showing me how massage can change lives. I’d like to thank Mo Taith for also opening Tucson Massage CE Institute where I can have easy access to receive continuing education classes where I can learn different techniques and modalities from amazing instructors. I’d also like to thank Kevin Diaz for taking amazing photos of my business.
