Risks are scary and at times very uncomfortable but when it comes to life/ career, I believe taking risks is very important to grow as a person and within your business. Staying in a comfortable place will not help you progress in life. When taking risks there are obstacles and setbacks involved but as long as you have the right mindset and don’t let your failures defeat you the growth will happen. My biggest career risk happened after 12 years of building my career, we picked up and moved states. It was very uncomfortable and scary but I was determined to start what I always dreamed of – being an independent HAIR ARTIST! Being a business owner comes with a lot of risk-taking, failures, and learning that I know now. Read more>>

I believe that being bold and taking a risk on things that you are not only passionate about, but also gifted in is one of the greatest ways to advance your life and get the most fulfillment out of life. In the end, it is so much better to say ” I am so glad that I did and tried vs. I wished I had.” I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for taking the risks that I did along the way. It is in those risks that we learn the lessons that help us grow. Read more>>

Risk Taker: a person who is willing to do things that involves stepping out of their comfort zone in order to achieve a goal. I was never a risk taker, in fact I didn’t become a risk taker until this past year when I moved to Phoenix, AZ. I was always too shy and doubted my talents for the longest time, while others saw potential in me. It wasn’t until I moved out of my hometown (comfort zone), that I decided to see what everyone else seen in me. I took my first risk when I said “YES!” to a modeling shoot within 3 months of moving here. Since then, it has opened up many opportunities I didn’t think I could ever obtain. Read more>>

Risk is oftentimes scary because with risk comes the unknown. The unknown is uncomfortable because there are no clear answers. With starting any business, there is some form of risk that a person is willing to take. Before I started The Weathered Daisy, so many fears came with the idea of this business. One thing I have learned about taking risks over the last few years, is that if I don’t try, I will never know the outcome. I would rather try and give it my all, than to not try at all. I’ve found it crucial to put myself out there into the unknown and be uncomfortable in order to grow both individually and professionally. Even in the cases where I have taken a risk and the outcome did not go as intended, I still have the opportunity to learn from the experience. Read more>>
