We had the good fortune of connecting with Alison Wysong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alison, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk has played a huge role in my life and career paths! I believe that having a high level of risk intelligence is necessary in life. Without risk, one could not achieve near the number of opportunities that could be presented to them. Throughout my life, I have dealt with risk quite well. For instance, growing up in the Chicagoland area brought a level of risk on its own. As a young adult, I followed my father’s footsteps for a little while and started working in the field of Criminal Justice. After dispatching for a few years, I started doing evals with the officers working in the Government Housing Projects. Although the danger was high, the risk was worth the reward, especially when positive impacts were being made. After 21 years in a very difficult environment, I made yet another ‘risky’ decision to move across the country to Arizona where I have now spent the last 6 years. This decision was life changing and necessary to take my life to the next level. I am a firm believer that you should always take opportunities as they come because you never know where they could take you. After exploring loads of opportunities in Arizona, life led me to London for a short while where I studied stocks and foreign currency trading. That opportunity was yet another risky decision that changed my life forever. Therefore, to be successful, I believe you must take risks. I recommend taking them often but always remembering to use common sense and a bit of logic. That next move, trip or career could change your life forever. Never get too comfortable!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a serial entrepreneur has an incredible amount of ups and downs with loads of opportunities. I have my Bachelors in Psychology with a concentration in Media and Technology as well as a certification in Supply and Demand Trading. I do work for a few different fitness brands and love to shoot photos and commercials in my spare time. I enjoy trend trading stocks and currencies and also invest in real estate and cryptocurrency. As I build my real estate portfolio, I am constantly working on expanding my professional life. I am incredibly excited for all future opportunities as life has so much to offer. It has never been ‘easy.’ Life requires you to work hard if you want to be successful. I am definitely not the type to take the easy way out and I am always continuing to learn. Even on my worst days, I am looking towards a brighter future. I overcome my challenges by continuously pressing forward while I live by a statement my father taught me — “Always find the joy in the misery!” This has kept me a float at some of my toughest times. Every problem is an opportunity for a new challenge and life lesson. You must trust in yourself, the universe, and have faith in what you do!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Phoenix has a lot to offer! There are so many hidden gems in the area. I am sure that I still have a lot to do and see. If one were to travel to Phoenix, I would highly recommend staying Downtown, Biltmore, or the Scottsdale area. Hiking is an absolute must as Phoenix has some incredible viewpoints on top of the mountains. ‘A mountain’ in Tempe is a short hike while Camelback is a bit more experienced. Head up north for a scenic change in Flagstaff or Sedona. Off roading in the desert, tubing at Salt Lake and shopping at Fashion Square must be on the agenda! A couple fancy dinners at Maple and Ash, Toca Madera, Flint, North Italia and Ocean 44 are my faves! I also enjoy the speak easy’s such as the White Rabbit and the Ostrich. Another favorite spot would be Shady Park in Tempe. They have some of the best ramen and feel good music. Friday or Saturday nights are always well spent at the W and if feeling a bit crazy, then a quick walk over to the clubs in Old Town. Although I am not a big club goer, Riot House can definitely be a good time. The weather is so beautiful in Arizona, lazy days by the pool are necessary and Sunday brunch is forever a vibe. Hash kitchen, Breakfast B*tch, The Vig, and Brunch and Sip are delicious. A night downtown Phoenix for a sports game is also a must with a finishing evening at Hanny’s or Cobra Arcade Bar. You really can’t go wrong visiting Arizona!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many individuals that I could give credit to for being a huge inspiration in my journey and success. Most importantly, I must give credit to my parents for always supporting every opportunity that I have taken. Without their support, I would be no where near where I am today. It has been the most incredible blessing to be raised by two successful individuals who have never judged a day of my journey and have always worked extremely hard to help me every step of the way. I would also like to give thanks and credit to my business partner, James Gold. James has not only been one of my closest friends, but also an incredible mentor who always sees the bright side of life. Books and podcasts will forever be highly favored as I believe knowledge is incredibly powerful. I believe that your circle must uplift and inspire you, and what you feed your brain matters! Shoutout to Tiara, Taj, Michael, Amanda, Paulina, Shal, Blake, Dacey, KJ, Sarah, Kendrick, Brent, Zack, and so many more! I love you guys!
