We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenndee Franklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenndee, how do you think about risk?
As they say, no risk no reward! That is my thought process behind taking risk. I quit my day job and committed myself to getting better at my craft. I was also working on myself to be my “Best” self. Which I believe plays an important part when you are self employed and a creative.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Becoming a self taught makeup artist has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I am proud to be able to give people the feeling of self confidence, worth and power through makeup. It drives me to see people smile, and to be confident in themselves just from having a little glam session and experience with me. Because my clients are not just clients, I aim to build connections and not just collect a fee. Every time I get to touch a new face it gives me the chance to also touch that person’s spirit. I have a YouTube channel that I’m excited to grow and give myself some exposure to the world of what It is I can do! Not just in make up alone but giving people hope, and courage to put themselves out there if they have talent to not let it go to waste. To share the knowledge and teach the world. I hope to eventually build a cosmetic brand that’s sells makeup palettes and lip glosses. And use the profits to invest in real estate for the homeless.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Arizona is the home of sunshine! It’s always some fun to get into even when it’s HOT. I would visit Sedona. Home of the Red Rock. Beautiful scenery.
If I’m in Tempe I’m stopping by Monroe’s hot chicken for a good southern fix.
“CASA” for a taco and classic margarita.
Hanging out at the Tempe beach park to ride a scooter ad get some water scenery.
Downtown Phoenix-Crescent Ballroom has great tacos and Elote!
Westgate in Glendale for a fun night out at Fat Tuesdays and The Lola for brunch or Hash Kitchen.
Old town Scottsdale has an amazing night life with bars surrounded in one lot. And even a Taco truck near by when leaving. Scottsdale mall is a beauty to see.
I’m a taco lover, if I’m n Phoenix I’m going to modern margarita. Freshest food ever!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Firstly I’ll like to give all praise and shoutout to God. Without him playing a active role in my life I would not have the strength and courage to keep going strong. My husband has been the best humanely support I’ve ever had in my life. He is my coach, alarm clock, mentor and so much more. I look to him for advice, peace and love and he delivers! My children give me motivation to keep fighting for my dreams. If I have a ruff day my family is around to remind me of why I began my journey.
