We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is where you let go of all the negative-doubtful thoughts and you take a very blind and very faithful leap into the blind. I would still be at my 9-5 job, only halfway pursuing my passion. I did that for years, but I wouldn’t have all the opportunities and growth if it wasn’t for RISK.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every person’s face is my canvas. I have palettes, brushes, and the passion and love for what I do. That is art. I have the eye for beauty and balance. I believe in elevating someone’s already existing beauty. What sets me a part is, aside from my work, because I do believe it speaks for itself, I think what makes me different is I am relationship based. It’s important to build trusting relationships with my clients and partners. I file away information they share with me, I remember what they do and don’t like about their makeup. A quote that I go by is “people don’t care what you know, people want to know that you care”. Things I’m looking forward to this year is making more connections and relationships with other like-minded. business owners, and working with brands. My goals are big and small but I do what to expand my clientele to more companies/entrepreneurs.
I got to where I am by a series of life events. I started out at Paul Mitchell the School of Phoenix, did makeup on and off for several years, working under a lot of different brands and corporations. I gave up makeup in 2019 after one of my parents passed away but after some time and reconnecting with friends in the industry, I was back. Death puts life in a different perspective and I realized I would have nothing to lose to just try. I started my LLC in 2021 and the rest is history.
Was it easy? yes and no. I’m a single mom, I worried a lot about failing and failing wasn’t an option when I had my child depending on me and me only. He definitely gave me the strength to keep going.
There are a lot of lessons to be learned in the process and one of them being organized and effective communicating. I don’t get a lot of complaints for my work but I have had issues with double bookings, or miscommunications. It’s important to incorporate systems or apps that help you stay on top of your business.
I want to leave behind genuine love and care for my work and for people. My love and gratitude for life. I want to leave a story of perseverance. You can look at me and never know half of the things I’ve been through but I have never let me hold me back or define who I am. My brand is a representation of taking risks and making it happen, what ever you’re passionate about.
