We had the good fortune of connecting with Christin Kingsbury and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christin, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk used to be something that i was paralyzed by, like many, I over thought all the negative possible outcomes and struggled to take action because of it. On the road to building businesses and pushing for goals I have failed many times. Sometimes big, often small but always failing forward as I take on the next challenge. Ive learned to fall in love with calculated risk. As an investor, I don’t just take risks without calculation but rather analyze the risk vs reward and focus on the best case scenario. I focus on how taking the risk moves me toward the goal at faster pace. Of course I acknowledge the possibility of failure, but rather than allow it to paralyze me from action, I ask my self “Can I live with the outcome of the worst case?” and “Is it worth it for the probability of the best case?” I have learned to fall in love with being uncomfortable and with the person I am becoming daily because I now embrace it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Building a business and a life by design is not easy, but it’s simple. We often overcomplicate it to justify our inaction. It’s uphill every single day, but you can make the hike fun when you incorporate great people, a fun culture and build your world around a great attitude, a character of trust and honesty, and a foundation of great relationships.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were here for a week we would adventure to beautiful places of nature, water, sunshine, hiking and quiet. We’d eat and fun quirky hole in the wall restaurants and we would end the evenings with live outdoor music. Wed likely road trip to discover unseen places and just enjoy the adventure!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmother- Taught me that real estate was a great vehicle to use to build generational wealth. She taught me to use my creative side to solve other peoples problems and in turn revenue would be generated. Ben Kinney taught me that even the biggest, scariest, dreams are within reach if you believe in yourself and put in the work. Steve Chader taught me to always see the best in others and that building wealth and business can be lots of fun when you share opportunities with other great humans. All of them taught me to focus on your highest dollar productive activity and invest those dollars in income generating real estate assets that you hold.
