We had the good fortune of connecting with Donovan White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donovan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
At White Brothers Electric, our work goes far beyond wires and panels—it’s about protecting people. We serve our community with a clear purpose: to make homes and businesses safer by ensuring their electrical systems are properly installed, maintained, and up to code. Electrical issues are one of the leading causes of residential fires, and many of them are preventable. By identifying hazards early and correcting unsafe conditions, we help reduce that risk and give families peace of mind.

As a local, family-owned electrical contractor, we take pride in educating homeowners and business owners about electrical safety. Whether through whole-home safety inspections, panel tune-ups, or system upgrades, our focus is always on long-term safety rather than quick fixes. We believe an informed community is a safer community.

We are deeply invested in the neighborhoods we serve. Our team lives and works here, and that responsibility drives us to hold ourselves to a higher standard of workmanship, transparency, and care. Every job large or small is approached with the understanding that we are helping protect someone’s home, livelihood, and family.

By prioritizing safety, education, and quality, White Brothers Electric helps strengthen our community one electrical system at a time, creating safer homes today and a more secure future for the families we serve.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
White Brothers Electric is a family-owned electrical company built on generations of experience, strong values, and a commitment to doing the job right. We focus on residential and commercial electrical work, with safety always coming first. What sets us apart is simple we don’t cut corners, and we treat every home and business as if it were our own.

Getting to where we are today wasn’t easy. Like most small businesses, our growth came from long hours, learning the hard way, and staying consistent when things were challenging. We faced the normal ups and downs of building a family-run company, but we pushed through by staying grounded in our faith, leaning on each other, and continuing to invest in our skills and education.

The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that integrity and reputation matter more than anything. Clear communication, standing behind our work, and putting people before profit have allowed us to build long-term relationships within our community.

What we want people to know about our brand is that it’s rooted in service. We are guided by faith, strengthened by family, and supported by our community. Our goal is simple: to provide safe, reliable electrical work and help protect the homes, families, and businesses that trust us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
f a close friend was visiting for a week, we’d want them to experience the best of Arizona—good food, great people, and a mix of outdoor time and local culture.

We’d start in the East Valley with breakfast at a local favorite, then spend time exploring downtown Mesa and Gilbert—walking around Heritage District, grabbing coffee, and checking out local shops. For food, spots like Joe’s Farm Grill, Worth Takeaway, or a classic Mexican restaurant are musts. In the evenings, we’d keep it relaxed with dinner and drinks in downtown Gilbert or Tempe.

Midweek would be for the outdoors. A sunrise hike at Camelback Mountain or Usery Mountain Regional Park is a must, followed by a laid-back afternoon recovering by a pool. We’d also take a drive out to Saguaro Lake or Salt River—especially if the wild horses are out just to show off how unique the desert landscape really is.

Later in the week, we’d head into downtown Phoenix or Old Town Scottsdale. Catch a Suns or Diamondbacks game if the timing works, check out Roosevelt Row for food and art, or enjoy live music and a good meal in Scottsdale. Arizona has no shortage of great local restaurants and solid nightlife without feeling overdone.

To wrap up the week, we’d slow it down—brunch, maybe a local church service, and a final dinner somewhere meaningful and low-key. Arizona is at its best when you experience it like a local: good food, time outdoors, strong community, and plenty of sunshine.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our shoutout starts with family & faith. Our faith has been a steady foundation, shaping our values, guiding our decisions, and reminding us to operate with integrity, humility, and service in everything we do. It influences how we treat our customers, how we support one another, and how we approach our work—with care, accountability, and purpose.

Family is at the core of White Brothers Electric. As a multi-generation electrical family, we were taught early on the importance of hard work, honesty, and doing things the right way, even when no one is watching. Those lessons continue to guide our business today and define the standards we hold ourselves to.

We also want to recognize the mentors, coworkers, and industry professionals who invested their time and knowledge into our growth. Electrical work is built on experience, and those who were willing to teach, guide, and challenge us played a critical role in shaping both our skillset and our leadership.

Finally, we are deeply grateful for our community. The homeowners, business owners, general contractors, and property managers who trust us with their electrical systems have given us the opportunity to grow and give back. Being a local company means more to us than just service—it means responsibility. We are committed to keeping our community safe, supporting local families, and contributing positively to the places where we live and work.

Our journey is the result of faith, family, mentorship, and a supportive community working together, and we are grateful for every person who has played a role in our story.
