We had the good fortune of connecting with Evan Amos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My process is to bring something that includes my create talent and artistic touch. I like working for myself and not being stuck into a job. The goal is to do what I love so it doesn’t become work.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I take my photography and use it as a platform to do digital surreal editing on real landscapes or exposures. I think what sets me apart from most other photographers are they don’t push editing as much and the emotion I put into the exposure gives a feeling and certain blend of colors which is expressed in the projects that are done. I want the world to know that everyone is talented and can create more instead of consume. I got to where I’m at level wise by pushing and trusting myself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them backpacking or camping. Maybe to a Waterfall or something unique that would relax and ground them to enjoying the beautiful state of Arizona. We would hike to various spots and stay for a day or so. I love going outdoors to capture the stars as well. I think exploring is the most fun out here.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my folks and friends. Those who constantly reflect back their love and support for my craft. It’s hard to stay focused in a crazy world, so I appreciate those who are there when I stumble or lose that motivation to create.
