We had the good fortune of connecting with Hilary Andes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hilary, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Starting a morning routine! Which has started many other habits along the way. I wake up earlier, I set my workout clothes out the night before so I get up and don’t have to think about it. I workout either at home or at the gym. Then I get my kids ready for school and fed. After that and again at nap time is time for emails, model home tours, or whatever I need to get done for the day. I get so much done in my morning routine, it really sets me up to have a good, productive day.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am an Arizona Native and growing up both of my parents were involved in real estate in one way or another. It was familiar to me. In high school, our “small town” of Gilbert was growing like crazy. There were new builds all over. Somehow, we started visiting these new home communities, I loved it. My Mom and I eventually started going to tour new model homes weekly. It was a highlight of my week. Flash forward 10+ years later and I was finally at a place where I could go to Real Estate school and start my career. I am now a wife and a mom to 3 kids. I loved looking at homes when I was younger but now I know how truly important home is. I am a believer in creating home. I love that you can walk into your home being tired, run down, and even irritated and change that whole feeling within minutes of being home. For me, that usually involves, 5-10 minutes of picking up, lighting a candle, and maybe even warm cookies in the oven. (I’m a sucker for cookies!) I am a homebody. I love being home. I want everyone to realize the power they have in their home! Playing a small role in helping someone begin a new chapter either closing the door one last time to a home or opening the doors to a new one is truly a dream come true.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love staycations! So if I had a friend visiting from out of town, there would definitely be a resort in Scottsdale involved. Poolside all day with take out food for dinner. A trip to Scottsdale quarter and Sweet Republic Ice Cream, or Sprinkles Cupcakes for dessert. We love Downtown Gilbert, both my husband I grew up not far from Downtown Gilbert when it was basically nothing. So to see what it is today is amazing! We love Culinary Dropout and Joes Real BBQ in Downtown. We’ve also been fortunate to have a fun hang out restaurant right here in our neighborhood. When it’s nice out, there is live music under the hanging lights, eating good food, and our kids play and dance in the grass. We also love that it’s biking distance! We obviously love to eat! When we’re not eating we’re swimming with family, riding bikes, or going hiking.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve always had a love for homes and I always wanted to do real estate. When I saw a fellow Arizona Mom on instagram announce she was shutting down her online store to go into real estate, I was immediately intrigued. I became her biggest fan! (not to worry, she knows this!) She used instagram to share the process of real estate, the behind the scenes, and her everyday family life. She has been such an inspiration to me, I knew I wanted to model my business after hers. Relatable, likable, and a friend. Amy Gregory, you inspire me, and now so many others!
