We had the good fortune of connecting with Jodi Ghelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jodi, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Life- Work balance has ALWAYS been a huge priority to me! Spending time with those I love, raising my children and doing what I enjoy in this short life have been non-negotiable and a major factor in my career decisions over the years.
As a result of wanting to always build my life around what I value most – I started a private therapy practice and a wellness center while my children were young so I could always make my own hours and be available to them. Yet, I had to sacrifice time with them to spend time at an office – during traditional working hours. I wanted more. I wanted to live more of the life I value and love. Time freedom become an evident huge desire for my future. As a result of this desire , I retired my private mental health therapy practice over one year ago to focus on my health coaching practice. A practice where I could earn a fantastic income working from anywhere and whenever I chose. This change has allowed the ultimate work-life balance! Working from my home, my office, my car, Barbados, The Bahamas, Nashville, camping , Indiana, Virginia, New England, on the water … or the waiting room awaiting the arrival of my first grand baby. The last component for me of what creates a sense of life-work balance is joy and peace! I found a career that does not feel like work. It is fun – fulfilling – and rewarding. I enjoy partnering with my clients and assisting them to reach their health goals and a sense of wellbeing in all areas of their lives. Work- life balance looks different for all , but for me it is ultimately feeling peaceful about how I spend my day and not feeling imprisoned by a brick and mortar building or rigid career that runs my life. A career that allows me to not worry about finances and allows me to live and give abundantly. Creating structure that works for me and my priorities. This is truly work -life balance.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an independent health coach and health coach trainer. All of my coaching and training is done virtually – so my clients and coach candidates can live anywhere in the USA. I love having this sphere of influence and being able to connect with people who are interested in my practice and training program from all over the country. Talk about fun! I am in love with coaching and partnering with clients that want to achieve a health goal- whether that be weight gain- weight loss- weight management- disease management or prevention- athletes- nursing mom’s- seniors- teens- those who just want to eat healthier and more! My coaching is more of a personal development plan with a nutrition component. I work with habit changes that are realistic and sustainable for a life time. Education – mind set work and nutrition are a sticky beautiful combination for long term success. I also love training coaches in my apprentice – mentorship coaching program. No education- degree or prior experience is necessary. All done from the comfort of home. I love partnering with those who love helping others and at the same time – assist my coaches in finding financial- time and career freedom! There is nothing better than helping someone come home from a job they no longer enjoy or be able to be a more fully present parent or spouse! As a 30 year veteran independent mental health therapist- I know all too well how much damage some jobs can create to the family or marital unit. Getting coaches home is a beautiful gift I can offer. My passion and love for what I do , and the people I have the honor to partner with, have led me to the place of success and happiness I sit today. I love what I do and that makes it easy to be successful!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am in love with Northern AZ – but Sedona is an all time favorite. Staying at any of the amazing hotels or resorts that have killer views and the sounds of the creek amongst the pine trees is a beautiful get away. So many amazing places to eat – have a local glass of wine – shop- hike and of course take a slide down slide rock- hang out in a natural hot spring- or a jeep tour. Just don’t forget to watch the sun set and rise over those breath taking red rocks! A weekend in Sedona will never be enough.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my husband who has supported my desire to find ultimate work- life balance and loves me every step of the way!
