Meet Joselyn Santo | Entrepreneur & Mobile Notary

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joselyn Santo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joselyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my business during a really transitional time in my life. I had lost my banking job, was reevaluating what I actually wanted for my future, and realized I wanted more freedom, flexibility, and purpose in my work.
A big part of it was also my kids. As a single mom, I felt like my banking career kept me constantly busy and pulled away from being as present as I wanted to be. I wanted to build something that allowed me to create my own schedule and be there for my daughters more while still building a successful career.
I’ve always loved helping people, and once I became a notary, I quickly realized it was more than just signatures and stamps. A lot of the people I work with are going through important or stressful moments, and I genuinely enjoy being someone who can make the process easier for them.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets my business apart is that I genuinely care about the people I’m helping. A lot of the work I do happens during stressful or emotional moments in people’s lives, whether it’s estate planning, hospital signings, hospice paperwork, or helping families navigate important decisions. I try to bring a calm, patient, and compassionate approach to every appointment instead of treating people like just another transaction.
I also built my business around convenience and flexibility. I offer both mobile and remote online notarization, so I’m able to meet people where they are, literally. Whether someone is at home, in a hospital, at work, or even out of state, I try to make the process as easy and accessible as possible.
Starting a business definitely hasn’t been easy. There’s a lot of uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship, especially when you’re building something from scratch as a single mom. But I’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection. A lot of my growth has come from simply continuing to show up, network, build relationships, and genuinely care about the people I work with.
What I’m most proud of is building a business that feels aligned with who I am. I’m not trying to be the biggest company out there. I just want people to know that when they work with me, they’re getting someone reliable, professional, and human.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I’d probably give them a mix of Arizona nature, good food, live music, and local spots that feel more authentic than touristy.
We’d definitely do a day in Sedona because I don’t think you can fully appreciate Arizona without seeing the red rocks. I’d probably plan a hike, grab food somewhere with a patio view, and just spend the day exploring.
I’d also take them paddleboarding or kayaking at Saguaro Lake, hit a local coffee shop, and probably end up at a live music spot one night because I love live music. Downtown Gilbert and Downtown Phoenix both have a lot of great food and nightlife, so those are always fun places to wander around.
Food-wise, Arizona has surprisingly good Mexican food, brunch spots, and little hidden gems everywhere. I’m also big on outdoorsy things, so anything involving hiking, sunsets, lakes, or being out in nature is usually my idea of a good time.
I think one of the best things about Arizona is that you can do a little bit of everything here. One day can feel super peaceful and nature-focused, and the next can be fun, social, and full of energy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d honestly dedicate my shoutout to my daughters first. They’ve been one of the biggest reasons I pushed myself to build a different life and take the leap into entrepreneurship. They’ve motivated me more than they probably realize.
I’d also give a huge shoutout to the people in my life who supported me during some really difficult seasons and encouraged me to keep going even when I doubted myself. Starting a business can feel lonely and overwhelming at times, and having people who believed in me made a huge difference.
And honestly, my clients deserve credit too. Every person who trusted me early on, referred me, left a review, or recommended my business to someone else helped me build this from the ground up. Small businesses grow because people choose to support them, and I never take that lightly.
