We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Hardwick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind opening my own business was to advance in ways that I never thought I could. The best thing about my career is that I can be creative and unique from others while also being able to learn new things along the way. I am grateful for the many opportunities I have received such as showcasing my collections in NYFW, St. Louis, and even Vegas! My thought process is always to never give up and to strive for whats to come. I am a huge advocate for self expression and not letting anyone get in the way of it. Therefore, opening my very own business, was a huge step in the right direction for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of my establishment within myself and my brand thus far. I have worked endless hours on set plans and goals for myself, that if I didn’t accomplish those as least once in my life, then I would have failed myself. I am very driven and ambitious within my set goals and accomplishments; therefore, they must be met. With this industry you have to be hard on yourself, but in a way where it strives and pushes you towards success. I have run into obstacles along the way, but don’t have one minor thing stop you from doing your absolute best. My brand really does speak for itself. When clients, friends, or even family take a look at my creations that I have made, they all have their own intake on what they perceive the “back story” to be. Kind of like when you go to an art museum and you look at a painting; there is always a mystery behind why someone has created that piece. That is something I love to keep open conversation about to the public.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am from a relatively small town called, “Delavan” located in Wisconsin. Since I am very much of a city person, I would recommend going to Milwaukee (which is only an hour away from me) and is home to many historical places and beautiful architectural buildings! My favorite attractions/things to do in Milwaukee would be the “Milwaukee Public Museum” or the “Milwaukee Art Museum”. These are definitely a must when scoping out this big city, especially if you are into art, creativity, or even history! While exploring this gorgeous city, you also want to consider grabbing a bite to eat! Since Milwaukee is located in Wisconsin, that means we are home to many great restaurants with bizarre cheese options. One of which is called, “Milwaukee Burger”, where they serve cheese curds the size of a baseball! Coming with many different sauce dippings and flavors, this is a must for all my cheese fans!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I would love to throw a huge shoutout to my friends, family, and loved ones who have always encouraged me to keep moving forward and to never give up on my dreams! I am so thankful to have the support system that I have and will continue to have as time goes on. This journey definitely didn’t take overnight, but with the help and love from those who have been there for me, I don’t know how I would have done it!
