We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Marble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since I was a little girl my mom always had me dressed up and everyone would always tell my mom how cute she dressed me! My mom always showed me new ideas with fashion and we are always shopping! So safe to say, it’s always been a part of me since I was little.
In my future I know I have always wanted to do something with fashion or social media. At one point I wanted to be a fashion designer, of course that is a lot of work and it takes a lot of creativity as well. When it comes to fashion I love to be simplistic but still put together. When I first got the idea to start my business, I didn’t think twice about any risks I could be taking or how much money I would have to invest before I saw growth. I jumped onto it so fast and got my license within days of just talking about it. I surprise myself and others around me at the dedication I have for my business. Along with wanting to handpick the clothes out myself I wanted to make sure my clothing was not only stylish but affordable. I won’t see growth overnight or years for that matter but it is truly what I love and it makes me so happy every time I do something to better my business. It was the greatest decision I’ve made for myself. Seeing people wear my clothes is my biggest accomplishment, and I want these women to feel comfortable and beautiful while wearing La Boutique.
Shop Small, Shop Local, Shop La Boutique!
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets La Boutique apart from other clothing brands is our engagement with customers. I always want to make sure they are happiest with what they are purchasing and love it in person as much as they did over the screen. Engaging with your customers builds trust, and that is what I value most.
La Boutique recently has been doing a lot of Pop-Up events here in Tucson, AZ. They are always a success and I get so excited to meet other local businesses in town.
My business today is no where close to where I want it to be, but I am grateful for every milestone to get there. With those milestones, I have room to grow, learn, and teach. It definitely was not easy and still is not easy but when I am working for my boutique it’s a passion and I love to do it. I had a lot of challenges at the beginning and I struggled with finding how I want to present my business and how I wanted it to look. With time and a lot of changes, I found an aesthetic that works perfect for my brand. Picking an aesthetic is so important in starting up a business because it will be the main reason you are drawing people in to look at your shop.
I want the world to know that, I started this company with the goal to make women feel beautiful and confident. My boutique is more then just selling clothes- it’s about fostering connections with women and making sure they leave my site better than they arrived.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am from Tucson so if I was taking my friend out for a good time I would definitely take them downtown! There are so many good places to eat down there along with the environment it is fun and welcoming! Then, in the morning we can go on a hike in one of the numerous scenic mountains we have!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my mom, she has supported me since day one and of course with all the trendy outfits she had me in as a kid definitely made an impact in the reason I started my business. My mom is a business woman herself, since a young age she had her own insurance company so I always saw her as her own boss and that gave me a lot of motivation to do the same. Thank you mom for always having my back and teaching me to be an independent, strong business woman. Along with the rest of my family, you all have gave me so much motivation, encouragement, and always willing to help me with my business.
