We had the good fortune of connecting with Madinah Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madinah, how does your business help the community or world?
Madinah’s Living Farmacy educates, guides, and coaches people to use food as medicine to heal, rejuvenate, and reconnect to the body. Healing the body is a bridge to heal the spirit, ultimately bringing a deeper sense of self and meaning into our lives.
I believe plant-based nutrition is spiritual nutrition. Plants are the most sacred, healing, intelligent, and mystical elements on earth. Utilizing the technology in plants to heal the body provides the deepest level of connection, self healing and ultimate expression of self love.
My service is to guide the community to discover the ease and gifts plant-based nutrition provides for regeneration and recovery of the body, restoring intimacy with self, improved mental well being, focus, and inner peace. Plant-based nutrition provides a symphony of balanced nutrition, vitality, effortless weight management, and an overall higher quality of life! When the body is nourished we step into full expression of our authentic self!
Through community workshops, 1:1 health coaching , weekly LIVE Tv show on TheWUNTv FB Network, international teaching retreats, Pod Cast appearances, reoccurring segment on Abc 15 Sonoran Living, wellness consulting, and community garden projects I am able to share, influence and expose the community to the healing powers of plant nutrition. Food is medicine because what you eat you become. Nutrition literally tells your cells how to express, rather that be an expression of disease or an expression of health.
Plant-Based nutrition is one of the most powerful and quickest ways to restore independence and confidence about your health. My goal is to inspire the community to shift from a dependent state to an empowered state about health and create a new health legacy!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Madinah’s Living Farmacy celebrates the beauty in nutrition. Beauty is about nourishment, self love, empowerment, and awareness. Using food as medicine, specifically plant-based alkaline nutrition, celebrates life not only to heal the body and spirit, it’s also a sustainable lifestyle that supports protecting Mother Earth. The more we connect with nature, the better we understand ourselves and the world around us. We are a mirror of nature which is why it is essential that we use the elements of nature to restore and heal. I spent many years working in corporate America’s healthcare system. As a RN and a Director of Health Management I had first hand experience with the destruction chronic disease has on families and communities. Being diagnosed myself with chronic hives and auto immune disease and healing from both using plant-based nutrition I was fired up to share my journey with the world. After traveling to Puerto Rico and studying at The Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute and achieving my Masters in Nursing from NAU, my spirit called to make the jump to leave corporate America and begin sharing my knowledge and lifestyle to the community and help people heal from the inside out! The biggest lesson I learned is every experience in life has meaning. My time in corporate America was significant as it taught me leadership, empathy, and the spirit of working with others. Sometimes I wish I had stepped into teaching and educating sooner however everything is just as it should and Im excited to share my passion of self healing through the journey of using food as medicine!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our first stop would be to nourish our body so we are definitely eating lunch at The Giving Tree in downtown Phoenix. The owner Dave is amazing and the energy and vibe at this plant-based organic resturant is quite healing. Next we would take a walk in nature at The Japanese Friendship Garden in downtown Phoenix. Upon entering this private enchanted park, your entire body will relax and your breath will soften as you are in awe of nature’s beauty. The evening we would do a sunset hike on South Mountain and overlook the city while enjoying the beautiful orange sky set.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shout out to my mom, the beautiful Queen who taught me that life is limitless!
