We had the good fortune of connecting with Majera Majidi, DC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Majera, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’m a very optimistic person and anyone who has worked with me will tell you that I’m full of positive energy. Risk has a slightly negative connotation to it so I’ve always looked at risk as opportunity before I make a final decision. I once had a landlord to my business tell me they were selling the building and I would have a new landlord. I took the risk of outbidding and purchasing the building myself and created a great long-term opportunity. It’s important to always think of opportunity before making a decision about risk taking.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With an interest in sports medicine, I began my career as a chiropractic physician in 2001. I built my practice taking a very customized hands-on approach with each patient. A visit with me is very different than the average visit with a chiropractor. We begin with a body stretch for the regions that have dysfunction or immobility. Then we apply deep tissue techniques to muscles that present tightness. Of course spinal adjustments are performed, but we go even a step further and perform rehab exercises to create stability in the areas of concern. A typical visit is approximately 30 minutes and can not only produce relief and recovery but also optimize human performance. We are very excited that earlier this year we merged our practice into Life Time and opened LifeClinic Biltmore. Here we have access to state-of-the-art recovery equipment, a fitness floor, spa, and amenities. At LifeClinic we restore, maintain, and optimize human performance.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have many favorite spots in the city as I grew up in the Phoenix area. There are so many great dining spots in the valley. One of my favorite places for brunch is Ocotillo because of the menu, great beats and drinks. The best place to go out late night and listen to the best house music is Bar Smith. Hiking is a great day time option in the valley as there are tons of trails, especially at McDowell Mountain. One of my favorite activities is golf and we have over 200 courses in the valley. One of my favorite courses is Lookout Mountain. There you have some of the best views of the whole valley. One of the best resorts in town is Westin Kierland. They have great pools, golf, kids activities and dining. There is some great shopping nearby at Scottsdale Quarter. There are many top museums in the valley including Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts. I also love taking my kids to the Arizona Science Center. My favorite night out in the Winter is to go downtown for a Phoenix Suns game. There are far too many great dining options in the valley so it’s hard to ever be disappointed.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am grateful for the education that I got from Southern California University of Health Sciences as a Chiropractic Physician. They prepared me to be a modern physician that can work with other healthcare practitioners to provide a wholistic approach to patient care.
