We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Taig and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
Getting to the end starts with the beginning. In 2009 I was diagnosed with Graves Disease, an autoimmune thyroid disorder. Shortly after my diagnosis, I began to develop other autoimmune conditions, resulting in food allergies and sensitivities. Through the process of elimination I realized that I could no longer tolerate gluten, and in 2012, I embarked on my gluten-free journey. For the first time, I began to heal my gut and nourish my body from the inside out and it all started with food.

Throughout the years I have learned how to recreate some of my favorite tried and true recipes to accommodate a gluten-free lifestyle. My goal is to create easy and delicious gluten-free recipes, using high-quality ingredients that you can serve to anyone, regardless of whether they eat gluten-free or not. Food is like art, it can create memories and evoke feelings, so the design element for certain events is also important.

This leads me to my other passions which are home decor and entertaining. At rebeccataig.com I will teach you how to live life in style, creating beautiful food while dressing up your home for holidays and events.

My end goal is to have a successful food and entertaining website that positively impacts and inspires millions of like-minded individuals around the world. Professionally, I would love to publish a holiday gluten-free cookbook and entertaining book. Another goal would be to create a cookline or partner with a reputable well-trusted brand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What separates my website from other gluten-free websites is the emphasis on design and entertaining. I’m excited to see the site grow and connect with like-minded readers. In 2019 we launched rebeccataig.com, which has grown to impact thousands of readers each year. Like most businesses, it takes time to evolve, but I aim to get just a tiny bit better each day. Patience has been one of the biggest lessons learned, along with having a positive mindset. It takes time to cultivate something you love.

When I’m not working on my website, I’m a full-time geriatric health coach, and balancing the two jobs has been hard but rewarding.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Aside from its endless beauty, one of the amazing things about living in Arizona is the abundance of gluten-free restaurants. When someone visits we take them to Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant, where you get an array of creative and delicious food, with endless choices of wine. Both my husband and I are wine club members and frequent both the Scottsdale and Chicago locations.

We also enjoy scenic hikes such as Pinnacle Peak for a more leisure day, or Camelback Mountain when feeling adventurous.

Arizona Broadway Theatre is another favorite destination, with live performances specializing in live Broadway-style musicals accompanied by dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Entrepreneurship comes with many hats and aside from CEO I am also the recipe developer, food photographer, and home decorator, which are all displayed through photos on my website.

But to run a successful business involves more than just a pretty photo. In fact, there’s a whole world of web design, SEO optimization, and editing that comes with running a successful website. I owe a lot of the behind-the-scenes work to my husband, Kenny Taig. He’s an IT expert that has played an instrumental role in both the design and function of my website. Without him, I would not be where I am today, and for that, I am truly grateful.
