We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanntel Hobbensiefken and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanntel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Having the courage to take risks is the only way you can achieve your goals. We took many risks leaving our home in California to pursue a new life here in Arizona. With 3 young kids it was a big decision for us to not only move, but to change careers. Our goal was to open a business together and turn it into a place that was a part of this community. In July, Cinnaholic Gilbert celebrated our one year anniversary. We can proudly look back on many fond memories with customers in the shop and at local events. Taking risks may not be for everyone, but it is what gave us the opportunity to achieve our goals.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are not your average cinnamon roll bakery. These are the freshest cinnamon rolls you will ever buy. Throughout the day we are making dough from scratch, hand rolling the cinnamon rolls, and baking them right before the customer orders. What is even more exciting, is the “Cinnaholic Experience” that comes with our shop. While we are doing all the baking, you can choose which frosting flavors and toppings you want to be added to your roll. And the Old Skool, with just vanilla frosting, is always available for those who want a more classic cinnamon roll.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many incredible places and things to check out in the area. When we have family out to visit we love to take them boating at Canyon Lake and tubing down the Salt River. We are true Gilbert patrons, and love to support Downtown. Our favorites are Whiskey Row at night, and Bergies Coffee in the morning.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to dedicate this Shoutout to The Town of Gilbert. They have put on on so many amazing events that Cinnaholic was so lucky to be a part of. We appreciate all the hard work that they do to make this such a great town to work and live in.
