We had the good fortune of connecting with Yaya Vega and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yaya, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Without risk there is no success. Risk for me has come in different forms from decisions to finances and time. I took a risk when I made the decision to leave the 9-5 jobs I had only every known and risk my finances to take a leap and open a business of my own doing what I love. I did not know the outc0me but I trusted that with my hard work and effort this risk would turn out to be the best opportunity to come my way. I have learned to live out of my comfort zone and always keep an open mind. The beauty of this industry for me is that learning never ends and the risks will always be worth it when you work hard and never forget why you started.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been doing eyelashes for two and a half years and have recently added Body Sculpting services to my menu. I love helping people feel and look their absolute best. Eyelashes make everyone feel extra beautiful and the body services not only help with shape and contour goals but also assist in detoxing the body to live a more healthy lifestyle. I have learned that doing what you truly love and believing in yourself are the best things you can ever do, it takes extra hard work especially when you are running a business but everything ends up being worth it. I love that my job gives me the opportunity to give someone a smile and feel better about themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you ever come to Tucson, Arizona you must check out one of our many hiking areas! I love anything out doors because we have beautiful mountains and desert life. If you were to hang out with me for a day expect to stop at Starbucks and eat a lot of pizza! I love living in Tucson.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and most importantly I thank both of my parents for teaching me how to believe in myself and always work as hard as I can. They support every decision I make and are the very first ones there to help with anything and everything. I hope they know just how much they each inspire me every single day. My family is very important to me and being the oldest sibling gives me that extra strive to be successful and show them anything can be done. I would also like to thank my Coworkers at Beso Beauty Bar. Angelica and Monica have both helped me believe in myself and my services tremendously. Their support means a lot being that they are both very talented professionals themselves and I am lucky to work next to such amazing women.
