We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Initially when we started this business I worked in the Corporate world. I would bring salsa to work for potlucks and coworkers told me I should jar and sell it and I even started selling containers of salsa at work. My Family and I loved going to Farmers Markets and buying local products for many years. With so much support from my Wife, Family and Friends I decided to try and sell my salsa at local Farmers Markets. My 1st Farmers Market was the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market. This business started as a fun way to make a little extra money on the weekends but little did I know that it would turn into so much more.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We make Fresh flavorful Salsa to fit anyone’s taste buds. Our flavors are unique and we use the freshest ingredients. We have Mild, Hot, Effen Hot, Green Tomatillo, Peach, Pineapple-Chipotle, Pineapple-Habanero, Hatch Chile, Roasted Garlic and now Elote Dips. I always am looking to make and add new flavors to our lineup and experimenting with different ingredients. We love to collaborate with other local vendors to to bring other amazing products to the table. The feedback and support that we get from customers is what keeps us going.
Salsa is available for Pick up at our kitchen at 1609 E Bell Road. We also deliver Valley wide and you can find us at Farmers Markets all around the Valley.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many amazing places to Visit in AZ it would be hard to pick. It would definitely include a tour throughout the state. With a drive to Sedona and upvthe 89A to Flagstaff. (The best drive in Arizona) We love local family owned spots including Barrio Cafe, The Larder + Delta, Sosoba, Karma Sushi, Revolu Taco, Pisa Lisa, The Asylum and one great hidden spot on Page Springs Road near Cornville called Up The Creek Bistro.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to give the biggest shoutout to my Wife, Family and Friends. Without them this business would not be where it is today. When I first started it was all of them who helped me in the kitchen making and packaging the salsa as well as helping at Farmers Markets and Salsa contests.
