We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Larson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, how does your business help the community?
I am a prenatal and postnatal personal trainer. I was a personal trainer before I had my daughter. Once, I had my daughter I realized how the fitness industry was failing moms. There is very little correct information on how to return to fitness postpartum and how to properly workout while pregnant. My work is helping to raise the level of care for moms. I continue to share my voice so that women know they do not have to heal on their own. There are a lot of options that can support them to feel better and feel the strongest they have ever been. Through TTC, Pregnancy, and Postpartum- a time when there is so much transition in a mothers life. Besides mothers receiving a better level of care I am proud to teach moms how to show up for themselves. If moms are able to feel their best and model for their children a healthy lifestyle. We can make huge progress in the health of all Americans. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in Prenatal and Postnatal fitness services. I do one on one virtual training for the individual who would like a little extra support. I have found that there are a lot of pre/postnatal services that are lead online at your own time. However, some women prefer to know they are doing a move correctly, want help with accountability, and someone there to cheer them on their fitness journey through motherhood. By working with me a lot of moms find peace in their workouts and no longer worry about if they are working out too hard while pregnant and are confident they are preparing their body best they can for birth. What I am most excited about is that my business is a red carpet experience from specialized workout plans, meeting with me 1:1 via zoom, high touch weekly accountability checks, helping moms stay mentally strong, and some fun little gifts throughout our time working together. The women I work with really feel as someone is holding space for them while they go through some wild and beautiful transitions in life! I founded this brand because I was tired of witnessing so many moms in pain throughout their pregnancies and the postpartum journey to healing so stressful and scary for them. I heard so many moms laughing about peeing themselves after birth as something we all have to deal with it. ( Which it is actually a pretty simple and easy solution to this- you just have to show up for yourself). I decided to do something about it and use my voice to promote fitness as a way to help easy pain symptoms in pregnancy, help the body prepare for birth, and speed up the recovery process or meet a mama where she is in the recovery process and get her feeling strong and confident as soon as possible. This has been many years in the making. I have my Master’s in Kinesiology and worked as a personal trainer for 2 years. Where I worked with primarily ages 50-80. So I am very specialized and promote that anyone can do movement! We just have to get creative on how we do it if were are working with some limitations but it is possible! I left personal training for 3 years to work in Corporate America when I had my daughter. There were so many things I witnessed at that time that ultimately lead me back to where I can most help people in this world. In addition, I have a WAY better understanding of all the barriers that moms are up against when they work with me. I can truly empathize for the lack of support they receive from their jobs during this time. Yet, I teach them to be their own guru and we get practices in place that allow them to thrive in wellness for themselves and their family. I had to hire a mentor to learn more about the business side of things before I opened. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. 1. I can really connect with my clients because I have understand how scary it is to do something our of your comfort zone 2. I feel very confident in running my own business now! The biggest lesson I have learned along the way is to make sure you are doing something that you fully enjoy! Life is a lot happier that way. I am a little bit of a rebel and highly encourage Mom’s to just go do the thing they have always wanted to! A Mom being 100 percent fulfilled in her life is just perfect for her children!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say outdoor activities like Hiking at Sanctuary Cove, visiting Old Tucson, and Mount Lemmon are some of the fun outdoor attractions that are a must! Some food options that would not disappoint are 5 Points Market & Restaurant, Maynard, WIldFlower, Prep and Pastry, The Little One, EL Charro Cafe to name a few!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Stephanie Van Schoyck- Thank you for holding space for me so that I am continue to build my business and show up as my highest self to support others!
